Pure Gumption in Midnight Muse

Today I’m sharing a quick graduation card that could be used for a male or female.  I used the Pure Gumption stamp set from Stampin’ Up! for the sentiment and images.  I’d thought about “girling” this up a bit by adding Silver Glimmer Brads, but opted for a more unisex version with the Silver Mini Brads.  I hope that I’m not way too late with this graduation card for you, the kids are still in school for 3 more weeks in Portland!

My card design was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches #87 sketch.

Pure Gumption

I started by stamping the Pure Gumption sentiment on a Midnight Muse panel in VersaMark ink, then I sprinkled it with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and I heat embossed it.  I adhered it to a panel of Brushed Silver card stock with SNAIL, then placed three Silver 1/8″ Mini Brads in the lower right corner.  I adhered the layered panel to the Midnight Muse card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Pure Gumption 1

I adhered a panel of Print Poetry DSP to a panel of Brushed Silver card stock, then to the card front with SNAIL.  I stamped the graduation caps in VersaMark ink on Midnight Muse card stock, sprinkled them with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them.  I punched the cap images out with my 1-3/8″ Circle Punch and adhered them with SNAIL to Brushed Silver card stock circles that I’d cut with my Circles #2 Die.  I placed a Silver 1/8″ Mini Brad through the center of each cap, then adhered the layered circles to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Pure Gumption 2

I stamped the graduation cap image in Midnight Muse along the bottom of the Whisper White panel inside the card to finish it.

  1. Wonderful…can easily be used for guy/girl and high school or college….great design! TFS!

  2. Great card! I’ll keep it in mind for next year. Our kids are out because of construction at the school. They got out early and will go back late but we will have a new high school soon. Have a good time celebrating Memorial weekend.

  3. Love the silver and blues together. They make for a wonderful graduation card! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
