Christmas Collectibles Meet Modern Medley

It’s Friday so it’s time for another holiday card share!  Sandi MacIver (my upline) and I have both created clean and simple, easily reproducible and mailable holiday cards using the Christmas Collectibles stamp set and Modern Medley DSP from Stampin’ Up! to share with you today.  We’re also including the costing to make a stack of the cards in our posts.  So once you take a peek at my card, be sure to head over to check hers out too!

My card design was inspired by Retrosketches #79.

Christmas Collectibles

I started by adhering a panel of Modern Medley DSP to a Basic Black card base with SNAIL.  Then I adhered a square of Modern Medley DSP to a square of Basic Black card stock, then to the card front with SNAIL.

Greetings of the Season

Next, I embossed a strip of Silver Foil Sheet with the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder, adhered it to a Basic Black strip then to the card front with SNAIL.  I stamped the Merry sentiment from the Greetings of the Season stamp set in VersaMark ink on a strip of Gold Foil Sheet, sprinkled it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I adhered the Gold Foil Sheet to a strip of Basic Black card stock, then to the card front with SNAIL.

Christmas Collectibles 1

I cut a panel of Very Vanilla card stock with the label shape from the Label Card Thinlits Dies and embossed it with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder (you can use your regular Labels Collection Thinlits Dies for this as well, there will just be a larger amount of the Basic Black card stock showing around the edges).  I adhered the embossed label to a label that I’d cut from Basic Black card stock using the Labels Collection Framelits Dies, then to the card front with SNAIL.  I stamped the three ornament images from the Christmas Collectibles stamp set in VersaMark ink on a Very Vanilla panel.  I sprinkled the images with Black, Silver and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them.  Then I punched them out with the Christmas Ornament Punch and adhered them with SNAIL to the card front.

Petite Pairs

I finished the inside of the card by stamping the sentiment from the Petite Pairs stamp set in StazOn Jet Black ink on a Very Vanilla panel, then adhering a strip of the Modern Medley DSP.

Here is the cost breakdown for creating 48 cards (this is assuming that you already have the stamp sets, Framelits, Punch, Embossing Folder and SNAIL adhesive):

  • 2 Packs Basic Black Card Stock (121045) $13.90
  • 1 Pack Silver Foil Sheets (132178) $3.95
