Color Me Christmas Santa Flip Card

I had so much fun making the extended flip card a couple of days ago that I thought I’d show you another one!  This time I used the Color Me Christmas stamp and Very Merry Tags stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! to create my card.  My card design was inspired by The Paper Players #163, which is a challenge to create a clean and simple card for kids.  I think that my happy little Santa flip card fits that perfectly!

Color Me Christmas

Here is a link back to Sandi MacIver’s video showing you how to use the Thinlits Dies to create a 4-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ card with an extended panel:  Click here to view the video.  She gives you step-by-step instructions and measurements so make sure that you check out her video so you can see how easy it is to make the extended flip card.

Color Me Christmas 1

I started by adhering a 1-7/8″ x 4″ panel of Season of Style DSP to the left side of a Cherry Cobbler card base.  Then I ran it through my Big Shot with the Circle Card Thinlits Die, just as Sandi shows in her video.  Next, I stamped the Santa image from the Color Me Christmas stamp set in StazOn Jet Black ink on a Whisper White panel, colored it with my Stampin’ Write Markers, cut it out with a Circles Collection Framelits die and adhered it to the circle flip on my card base with SNAIL.  It’s hard to see in the pictures, but I added a little bit of Dazzling Details to the white parts on Santa’s hat and coat.

Color Me Christmas 3

Then I embossed a panel of Cherry Cobbler card stock with the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder and I adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.  I cut three stars from Silver Glimmer Paper using the little star die in the Circle Card Thinlits Die set and I adhered them with SNAIL to the embossed panel.  Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Very Merry Tags stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on a Whisper White panel, punched it out with the Petite Curly Label Punch and adhered it with a Stampin’ Dimensional to a 1″ Square Punch (I rounded the square corners with the 3/16″ Corner Punch).  I finished the card front by adhering the layered sentiment to the card front with SNAIL.

Color Me Christmas 2To complete the inside of the card, I stamped the Merry Little Christmas sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink on a Whisper White panel, cut it out with a Circles Collection Framelits die and adhered it to the back side of the flipped circle with SNAIL.  Then I stamped the image of the gift from the Color Me Christmas stamp set on a 3-1/4″ x 4″ panel of Whisper White card stock in StazOn Jet Black ink, colored it with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker and adhered the panel inside with SNAIL.

The Thinlits Card Dies are so much fun!  Click here to head over to my online store to check them out.

  1. I really LOVE this card & plan on using it for all the children in my family this year. Your designs are wonderful!

  2. Amy, this is too cute! Love how the “candy cane” paper plays off the stamped image and the flip card is awesome! Can’t wait to check out that video and try one for myself. So glad you joined us this week at the Paper Players for my “CAS Kids” challenge. 🙂
