Happy New Year!!  Hope that you all had a safe and enjoyable New Years Eve.  We spent an exciting evening in and couldn’t manage to stay awake long enough to watch the ball drop…yes, I do live an exciting life.  😉  I’ll start with my card, be sure to go to the bottom of my post to check out the $25 Gift Certificate winners for my December Ordering Special and to find out how you can be entered in my January drawing!

I used the Walk in the Wild and the new Hardwood stamp sets and a little Retro Fresh DSP from Stampin’ Up! to create my card today.  I made this card for the Stamping & Blogging SB37 Sketch Challenge that is going on this week.  Sandi MacIver made a card using the same sketch so be sure to go check her card out after peeking at mine, you can see her card by clicking here.

I started by adhering two panels of Retro Fresh DSP (available Jan 3) to a Baked Brown Sugar card base.  Then I inked up the Hardwood image (available Jan 3) in Baked Brown Sugar ink, stamped it once on scrap paper, then stamped it on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.

I stamped the image from the Walk in the Wild stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Soft Suede ink over the Hardwood image.  I used fine tip ends of my Tangerine Tango, So Saffron and Baked Brown Sugar Stampin’ Write Markers to color over the stamped image a bit.  I didn’t use the felt tip because it would have caused the Soft Suede ink to bleed and make a not-so-nice image.

Next, I adhered the stamped panel to a Baked Brown Sugar panel then to the card front with SNAIL.  I stamped the sentiment from the Wetlands stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Baked Brown Sugar ink, punched it out with the Large Oval Punch, layered it over a Large Oval Punch from Baked Brown Sugar card stock and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I finished the card front by tying Natural Linen Thread through two Naturals Designer Buttons and adhering them to the card front with Glue Dots.

I adhered a strip of the Retro Fresh DSP to the Very Vanilla panel inside the card to complete it.
