Hello from Houston, TX!!  I’ve been enjoying the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Meeting and learning a lot.  I found out some awesome news, Stampin’ Up! will be carrying a line of alcohol based markers called Blendabilities and they’ll be coming out in the first quarter of this year!!  Here are the colors that will be available soon:

It’s been fun to meet several of the Demonstrators in person that I’ve chatted with online and I’ve been able to spend time catching up with my fabulous upline, Sandi MacIver.  I hope to share some pictures of the event with you soon!!

For my card today, I used the Banner Blast stamp set and matching Banner Punch that will both be available during Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-a-bration 2014 starting on Jan 28.  Hopefully most of you have received your Sale-a-bration flyers in the mail so you can see the fantastic selection this year.  I love this stamp set and punch, they were the first two items on my Sale-a-bration wish list!

My card design was inspired by the Monday Lunchtime Sketch #296 and the colors were inspired by Dynamic Duos #85.

I started by adhering a panel of the High Tide DSP to a Whisper White panel with SNAIL.  Then I used my Paper-Piercing Tool and Stampin’ Pierce Mat to punch one hole on either side of the panel.

I placed the two Candy Dot Brad Bases about half way through the panel, then added just a touch of Multipurpose Liquid Glue around the brad stem.  I wrapped a piece of Natural Linen Thread around the brad stem, then pushed the brad down and opened the prongs on the back.  I added the touch of glue to make sure that the linen thread doesn’t come undone.

I adhered a Garden Green Candy Dot from the Regals Candy Dots pack to each of the brad bases, then I started stamping the little banners using the Banner Blast stamp set (Sale-a-bration item available Jan 28) in Garden Green and Summer Starfruit ink on a Whisper White panel.  I also colored the striped image with my Stampin’ Write Markers.

I punched the banners out with the Banner Punch (Sale-a-bration Item available Jan 28) and adhered them to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals that I’d cut in half.  I placed half of the Stampin’ Dimensionals above the thread and half below to hold the thread in place under the banners.  I finished the card front by adhering the decorated panel to a Garden Green card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then adding one little Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the “hi” sentiment banner.

I used the little star image from the Banner Blast stamp set to stamp Garden Green and Summer Starfruit stars on a Whisper White panel to complete the inside of the card.
