Undefined from Stampin’ Up!

Some of you may know that today is World Autism Awareness Day.  What most of you probably don’t know is that my younger daughter is autistic.  I created a personal stamp using Stampin’ Up!’s Undefined Stamp Carving Kit with one of the autism awareness symbols, a puzzle.  And I made it a heart shape just for my daughter.  🙂

The Undefined stamps are really easy to carve, if I can do it, anyone can!  I found the puzzle piece heart image online, printed it out, traced over it with a pencil, transferred the pencil tracing onto the rubber by scribbling on the back of the image with my pencil, then carved it with the tools that were included in the kit.  Super simple and it only took me about 15 minutes to make this stamp.

My card design was inspired by the Stamping and Blogging SB50 Sketch Challenge.  Be sure to click on the links at the bottom of my post to see the other Stamping and Blogging Design Team Members creations.

Perfect Pennants - Stamp With Amy K

I started this card by carving my stamp using the items included in the Undefined Stamp Carving Kit.  ***One tip for when you carve your own stamp, I found that it worked better on the curvy parts to hold the carving tool still and move the rubber part around.  I had better control over my lines that way, when I tried to hold the rubber still and move the tool, I kept moving the tool farther than I wanted to and I had trouble with different depths.  When I switched methods, it was really quick and simple!

Once I had my stamp all carved and assembled, I embossed a Whisper White panel with the Arrows Embossing Folder.  This card is slightly larger than the standard size (completed card measures 4-3/4″ x 6″), I had to run the panel through twice, moving the embossing folder over to the unembossed edge for the second pass through the Big Shot.  Then I adhered the panel to a Tangerine Tango card base with SNAIL.

Next, I cut a banner from Tangerine Tango Core’dinations Card Stock (from the Brights Core’dinations Card Stock pack) using my Paper Snips for the banner end, embossed the end with the little hearts from the Adorning Accents Embossing Folder set and adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.

Then I colored part of the sentiment from the Perfect Pennants stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) with my Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Write Marker and stamped it on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Then I cleaned off my stamp and inked up the other half of the sentiment with my Stampin’ Write Marker and stamped it on the other side of the panel.  I stamped three little heart images in between the sentiment, the little heart is from the Just Sayin’ stamp set (wood mount and clear mount).  I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to help me stamp the two-part sentiment and the little hearts (have I told you how much I love this tool?).  I adhered the stamped panel to a Tangerine Tango panel with SNAIL, then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I colored my newly carved stamp with my Stampin’ Write Markers, stamped it on a Whisper White card stock panel and cut it out with one of the Circles Collection Framelits Dies.  I adhered the stamped image with SNAIL to a Circles Collection Framelits die cut from Tangerine Tango Core’dinations Card Stock, then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added three Tangerine Tango Candy Dots (from the Brights Candy Dots pack), Pearl Basic Jewels and Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card front to give it a little “girly” flare.

I embossed a Whisper White panel inside the card with the same Adorning Accents Embossing Folder to complete the inside of the card.
