Swallowtail in Shades of Pink – Stampin’ Up!

I used the Swallowtail stamp and one of the new Decorative Masks from Stampin’ Up! to create my card to share today.  I decided that I wanted to use the Blushing Bride Stampin’ Emboss Powder for the butterfly image and everything went pink from there.  🙂

Swallowtail - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by the Seize the Sketch #23.

I started by cutting an oval using one of the Ovals Collection Framelits dies from the center of a panel of Pink Pirouette card stock.

Swallowtail 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I put the oval back in place and stamped the image from the Swallowtail stamp in VersaMark ink across the panel.  After stamping the image, I took the pieces apart and sprinkled them with Blushing Bride Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them.

Swallowtail 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I used the Dots Decorative Mask and a Stamping Sponge to stencil circles on the background panel in Pink Pirouette ink.  Then I wrapped a piece of Whisper White 5/8″ Satin Ribbon around the panel and I adhered it with SNAIL.

Swallowtail 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered the Pink Pirouette die cut oval with SNAIL to an oval that I’d cut with the next larger Ovals Collection Framelits Die from Blushing Bride card stock.  Then I adhered the layered oval to the larger panel with SNAIL (just a bit around the edges since the center was already cut out) and I adhered the panel to a Blushing Bride card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Swallowtail 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Blooming with Kindness stamp set in Blushing Bride ink on a Pink Pirouette panel then adhered it to a Blushing Bride card stock panel with SNAIL and to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the butterfly images from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set in Blushing Bride ink on a Blushing Bride card stock panel, punched them out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch, lifted the wings up just a bit and adhered them to the card front with SNAIL.  I added some Pearl Basic Jewels to the butterflies and under the sentiment to complete the card front.

Dots & Stripes Deorative Masks - Stamp With Amy K

I used the Dots Decorative Mask and a little Blushing Bride ink to stencil on a Whisper White panel inside the card.

  2. What a beautiful card . This is one stamp that never attracted me until now stunning . Such a delicate combination of colour . Thank you for sharing .

  3. What a beautiful card Amy! The embossing brings out the Swallowtail details so wonderfully and I really love the dots masking! I think I’ve found my wedding card – you are brilliant! 🙂

    • Oh, I’d never thought about using this for a wedding. Perfect! You could even change up the colors a little…maybe gold and white with Encore Ink for the sponging. All sorts of ideas rolling around my head now! 🙂

      • Oooh, I agree with those color options….hmm I think those might be better for her wedding. Or maybe with some Dazzling Diamonds too, like tone on tone with maybe Silver embossing too. Can’t wait to get home to try this out. Now my brain is rolling these ideas 😉 hmmm, even a shimmer blend of pink pirouette, dazzling diamonds, and silver embossing? Might be getting to carried away. I’ll let you know how it turns out. Definitely going to use this for an unrelated birthday card that same week. Thanks for the inspiration Amy!
