Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree Sneak Peek

I love the new Sheltering Tree stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! 2015 Occasions Catalog!  I think that it’s my favorite set…well, at least it’s my favorite set today.  😉

Sheltering Tree - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by Retrosketches #145.

Screen Shot 2014-12-16 at 3.44.31 PMThe colors for my card were inspired by Fab Friday #56.

Screen Shot 2014-12-16 at 3.46.29 PMI started by stamping the image from the Hardwood stamp in Crumb Cake ink on a Crumb Cake panel.  Then I went to work on my focal image.

Sheltering Tree 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the tree images from the Sheltering Tree photopolymer stamp set (available Jan 6) in Crumb Cake and Old Olive inks on a Whisper White panel.  Then I added the little swing image in Crumb Cake and the flowers in Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler Inks.

Sheltering Tree 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the paintbrush image from the Sheltering Tree stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink, then stamped it again without reinking right under it and over it.  I stamped that same image again in Coastal Cabana ink above the Bermuda Bay images and I stamped it a second time without reinking.  I stamped the sentiment from the Butterfly Basics stamp set (available Jan 6) in Cherry Cobbler ink over the paintbrush images.

Sheltering Tree 1- Stamp With Amy K

I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Coastal Cabana card stock that I’d punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch, then added a dot in the center of each scallop with my White Stampin’ Chalk Marker.  I adhered the layered panel to the Crumb Cake panel with SNAIL and I stapled a little snip of Cherry Cobbler 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon and a little snip of the Coastal Cabana ribbon from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack (Sale-a-bration item available Jan 6) with the Handheld Stapler to the panel.  I finished the card by adhering the layered panels to a Bermuda Bay card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Sheltering Tree 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped those cute little flowers from the Sheltering Tree stamp set again in Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler inks across the bottom of a Whisper White panel inside the card.

  2. I got my new catalogues Monday and have been admiring all the goodies inside. Last night my DH and I decided that this is our favorite set and will probably be quite popular like the other Tree sets are! I love how the seasonal examples are pictured. Can’t wait to order this set, Amy! Thank you for being prompt with mailing. ; ) Now, to your creation: Stamping the paintbrush for the sky is stellar, (IMHO)! I love it used for the grass and hadn’t thought about the sky! I also like the ‘off the page’ stamping. When I first started stamping, one of the challenges was to stamp partly off the page. I said, “I always try to stamp within the border, so this is different for me.” I did the challenge, and was pleasantly surprised how much I actually liked it! Thank you for sharing your talents, Amy….beautiful use of this soon to be released set~

    • Thanks so much for your nice comments Roberta! I’m glad that you love this set…you’ll be seeing it often on my blog. 🙂 There are so many things that you can do with it and I can’t wait to try them all!! 🙂

  3. Well, already had these sets on my list for The Big Order! This card just confirms that choice. Hardwood stamp, too. Now I guess I’ll also need the scallop punch. My husband is going to be SO tickled! 😉

  4. I love the hand painted look of this card. The Christmas catalogs killed my budget and I think I see another budget buster in my near future!
