I used some of the Under the Tree Speciality DSP and Kraft Card Stock from Stampin’ Up! to create a little gift box that was the exact size that I needed. The box was really easy to put together and I created a quick tutorial to show you the details. You can see it here on my Tutorials page.
I also got a little surprise gift in the mail from my stamping friend, Mary Laffin. She created a beautiful card, an ornament and some cute little treat boxes that I’m sharing today too!
After I created the gift box (you can see the tutorial here), I simply wrapped a strand of the Cherry Cobbler 1″ Sheer Linen Ribbon around it and tied a bow, then used a clothespin from the Under the Tree Tag a Bag Accessory Kit (on sale through Jan 5 for $5.59 while supplies last) to clip a tag to the box.
I created the tag by coloring the image from the Merry Everything stamp set with my Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler Markers and stamping it on a panel of Kraft card stock. I punched the image out with the Note Tag Punch and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to a Chalk Talk Framelits die cut from Under the Tree DSP.
And now for the box of goodies that Mary sent me! She hand painted an ornament, made four little treat holder boxes and a card for me. It definitely made me smile when it arrived. 🙂
For the card, Mary used some of the dies from the Snowflake Card Thinlits Dies set, some Silver and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and a little of the Santa & Co DSP.
When I opened up the card, I found these awesome floating ornaments! It’s a little hard to see in the photo, but Mary attached the ornaments to little strips of Window Sheets to give them that effect. So cool!
I loved the hand painted ornament…I especially love that she used a Frosted Sequin, Rhinestones and a little Silver Baker’s Twine to embellish it!
And then I started opening the little treat boxes…look what popped up! Cute little notes inside the boxes!
The notes are also “floating” on strips of Window Sheets and they pop up when you pull the boxes open. The box bases were hand made with the Envelope Punch Board and wrapped in designer papers.
And there were a few chocolate treats hiding in the boxes too! Thanks so much for the awesome treats Mary! I love you creations. 🙂

Love the tutorial on the boxes. I know there is so much more to do with the envelope punch board–but it’s nice to have someone else figure it out and share measurements with us!
You are so welcome for the treats. I enjoyed doing them for you. But–you said I made 4 little boxes for you–does that mean you aren’t sharing with your family? lol
Have a great Christmas.
Thanks so much Mary, glad that you liked the tutorial. 🙂
Hahaha!!! I wondered if you’d catch that I said all 4 were for me…of course I shared them with my family! 😉 Thanks again for the gifts, the ornament is hanging on the tree and the chocolate is nearly devoured. 🙂
Just wait til they use the “empty” boxes and fill them with gift cards/$$ for you to help in reducing your wish list from the new catalogs!
Love it!! Maybe I’ll leave little notes for them in the (now empty) boxes with my wish list…excellent idea Mary!! 😉
