Stampin’ Up! Hello You Thinlits Die Cut Card

I used the negative from the Hello You Thinlits Dies from Stampin’ Up! to cut the sentiment out from the main panel on my card today.  I didn’t use a single stamp on this card either!  🙂

My card design was inspired by the Sunday Stamps SSC94 sketch.

And the colors for my card were inspired by The Paper Players 231.

Screen Shot 2015-02-11 at 4.00.57 PMI started by adhering a panel from the Stacked With Love DSP Stack to a Basic Black card base with SNAIL.

Then I placed my sentiment die from the Hello You Thinlits Dies on a panel of Calypso Coral card stock and I ran it through the big shot.  I removed the die from the card stock panel and popped out the centers of the letters.

Since I wanted to emboss the panel, I placed the centers of the letters in the spaces that they’d been cut from and I taped them in place with little pieces of Blue Painters Tape.  I place the panel in the Happy Heart Embossing Folder and I ran the panel through the Big Shot.

I left the Blue Painters Tape in place and I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the panel to adhere it to the card front.  I cut a few Stampin’ Dimensionals into small pieces so that they’d fit better under the sentiment area.  Once I had the panel and the pieces adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, I peeled the Blue Painters Tape off the panel.

I adhered two strips from the Stacked With Love DSP Stack with SNAIL to the card front.  Then I tied a strand of Basic Black Baker’s Twine through a Basic Black button from the Neutrals Designer Buttons Pack and I adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot.

I adhered a strip of leftover Stacked With Love DSP to a strip of Basic Black card stock, then to a Whisper White panel inside the card.

  1. What a Sweet way to say “Hello”! Also, a different way to use the thinlit die…..and now you have an extra Hello to use for a different card, unless it got demolished with the tape! : )

  2. Great use of the negative die cut with the embossing Amy – I love the contrast between the textured panel and the DSP strips along the edge too. Thanks for joining us for our colour challenge over at the The Paper Players this week!

  3. Awesome card Amy! The way you used the negative space and the background dsp is so perfectly cool, it makes the hello really stand out 🙂 Thank you for sharing your technique on how to emboss the hello and pop it up. My Amy wanna CASE stash is getting bigger 😉
