Stampin’ Up! Lighthearted Leaves for The Paper Players

I used the Stampin’ Up! stamp sets called Lighthearted Leaves and Endless Thanks to create my card for The Paper Players color challenge this week.

The layout for my card was inspired by Mojo Monday 409.

I started by sponging a panel Color Me Irresistible DSP with Crumb Cake ink.  I wiped the excess ink of the embossed images and adhered the sponged panel to a panel of Old Olive card stock with SNAIL.  I adhered a panel of Old Olive DSP from the Brights DSP Stack to the lower half of the Old Olive card stock panel with SNAIL, then wrapped a strand of Crumb Cake 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the panel.  I adhered the layered panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Lighthearted Leaves 5 - Stamp With Amy K

I snipped the center out of one of the Spider Web Doilies (available Sept 1), flipped it over so that the white side was facing up, then sponged it with Bermuda Bay ink.  I cut the doily in half and adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.

Lighthearted Leaves 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the large leaf image from the Lighthearted Leaves photopolymer stamp set (available Sept 1) in VersaMark Ink three times on a Whisper White card stock panel, sprinkled them with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them.  I sponged over and around the images with Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Bermuda Bay inks, then wiped the excess ink from the embossed images.  I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Old Olive card stock and to the card front with SNAIL.

Lighthearted Leaves 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I punched the end of a strip of Whisper White card stock with the Banner Triple Punch, then sponged the edges with Crumb Cake and the center with Old Olive inks.  I stamped the sentiment from the Endless Thanks photopolymer stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink over the banner, then adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.

Lighthearted Leaves 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the smaller leaf image from the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a separate Whisper White panel, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I cut the image out with the matching Leaflets Framelits die, then sponged the image with Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Bermuda Bay inks and wiped the excess ink from the embossed image.  I applied a few Glue Dots to the back of the leaf and adhered a little of the Gold Metallic Thread.  I adhered the leaf to the card front to finish it.

Lighthearted Leaves 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I inked the large leaf image from the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set in Crumb Cake ink, stamped it off on scrap paper once, then stamped it on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I adhered a strip of the Old Olive DSP over the image, then adhered the panel to a panel of Old Olive card stock inside the card.

  1. Beautiful card! Thank you for the tip/idea for the Dollies – that’s great for when Halloween is over and you have some left over!

  2. Amy, I love the way you tied the leaf on the sentiment layer to that beautifully embossed and sponged background layer. The polka dots add such a great pop of color. Fabulous card

  3. This is a fabulous card! You are so clever to modify the doily the way you did. I had been wondering what I would do with so many and now I know. You are so creative!

  4. Amy, this is just gorgeous! (inside and outside) I love the way you sponged the doily in Bermuda Bay and the leaf with all the colors! You certainly made my colors shine this week! THANK YOU! XX

  5. I love this card! I can’t wait to get this stamp set (I’ve been putting off my pre-order because I can’t make a decision on some things!). And glad to know that the spider webs are white on the reverse side.

  6. You’ve done lots of fun techniques here and ended up with an awesome creation! I love that you used the back of the snipped-apart doily! So clever!

  7. Such a soft and pretty card and a great way to show a typically “fall” stamp set in a not so typical way. Way to get mileage out of your stash! And aren’t you the clever girl not only using the inside part of the spider web doily but coloring the back too?! Brilliant!

  8. This is so pretty, Amy! Love how the colors look sponged over the white embossing. This set is on my maybe list but with your help it just moved up a few notches, lol! Is this a single or double set, meaning one or two sheets of stamps? Thanks!

  9. This is gorgeous Amy – I just love how you embossed and shaded the images and used the wood effect paper for the background. Neat trick with the spider’s web too! So glad to see you won over at Mojo Monday too!

  10. This stamp set looks gorgeous using the emboss resist technique and the sponging. So clever and stunning as always Amy. LOVE your idea with the doily, so creative and it accents the card so well. TFS! (I’ve taken notes)
