Stampin’ Up! Touches of Texture in Neutrals

I used the Stampin’ Up! Touches of Texture and Cottage Greetings stamp sets to create my card for the Sunday Stamps Sketch Challenge this week.

Touches of Texture - Stamp With Amy K

Here is the sketch for Sunday Stamps SSC128.

Screen Shot 2016-05-08 at 7.32.08 PM

I started by adhering a panel of White Vellum over a panel of Tip Top Taupe DSP from the 2015-17 In Color DSP Stack with SNAIL (hidden under the focal panel).  I adhered the layered panel to a panel of Early Espresso card stock with SNAIL, then to a Tip Top Taupe card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Touches of Texture 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the small flower image from the Touches of Texture stamp set in Tip Top Taupe ink on a panel of Tip Top Taupe card stock, adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Early Espresso card stock and then to the card front with SNAIL.  I stamped the larger flower image from the Touches of Texture stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a separate panel of Tip Top Taupe card stock, then added Whisper White Stampin’ Craft Ink to the flower petals with a Blender Pen.

Touches of Texture 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I inked the splatter image from the Touches of Texture stamp set in Tip Top Taupe ink, stamped it on scrap paper, then stamped it on the edge of the Tip Top Taupe card stock panel.  I repeated that until all of the edges were stamped, then adhered the panel to a panel of Early Espresso card stock and to the card front with SNAIL.

Touches of Texture 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Cottage Greetings stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a strip of Tip Top Taupe card stock, then stamped the ink splatters in Tip Top Taupe (stamped off once) over it.  I adhered the sentiment to a strip of Early Espresso card stock and to the card front with SNAIL, then added three Pearl Basic Jewels to finish the card front.

Touches of Texture 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the flower image from the Touches of Texture stamp set in Tip Top Taupe ink, then added the splatter image over it on a Whisper White panel inside the card.

  1. I’ve always loved white on kraft and this is why! So serene. Love your idea to use the vellum on the bkgrd. I’ll be CASing this–thanks for sharing your wonderful work.

  2. I love your card, I don’t usually like just neutral colors, but in this card I love the way the neutral colors look. You do beautiful work.

  3. Fab neutral card Amy! I didn’t know that you could take craft ink and use it with the blender pens, love the way it turned out! Do you just wipe out off the same way with regular ink? Also really liked the way the Touches of Texture set looked so very soft and subtle. I was thinking about it, but didn’t get it….. 😀

    • Thanks so much Jill! Yes, just scribble on a piece of paper until all of the white ink is out…works better if you have a scrap of darker paper so that you can see the white. It did take a little more coloring to remove it than a regular ink would, but it worked just fine! And you definitely “need” this set. It’s awesome!! 🙂

  4. So elegant and appropriate for almost any occasion with just a quick change of sentiment. Impeccably made as always!

  5. adorable White on your kraft paper Amy
