Stampin’ Up! Frosted Medallions for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBannerI used the Stampin’ Up! Frosted Medallions stamp set to create a Happy New Year card for the Happy Stampers blog hop.  We’ve got a color challenge this week and here is the card that I created for it.

Here are the colors that we’re using this week:

The design for my card was inspired by Retrosketches #241.

I started by adhering a panel of the Fancy Frost Specialty DSP to a panel of Sweet Sugarplum card stock with SNAIL.  I adhered a wide strip of Sweet Sugarplum card stock to the DSP panel with SNAIL and then I added a wide strip of White Vellum over that, using SNAIL to adhere it in the areas that would be hidden under the tag and ribbon.

I wrapped a strand of the Sweet Sugarplum ribbon from the 3/8″ Glitter Ribbon Combo Pack around the panel and I tied a bow.  Then I adhered the layered panel to a Soft Sky card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I punched a strip of Soft Sky card stock with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch on one end and the Banner Triple Punch on the other and then I stamped the image from the Frosted Medallions stamp set in Soft Sky ink randomly over the tag.

I pulled a strand of Silver ribbon from the 3/8″ Glitter Ribbon Combo Pack through the top of the tag and tied it in place with a strand of Whisper White Baker’s Twine.  I adhered the tag to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I punched both ends of a strip of Whisper White card stock with the Banner Triple Punch and then stamped the sentiment from the Frosted Medallions stamp set in Sweet Sugarplum ink on the banner.

I adhered the banner to the tag on the card front with SNAIL and then added three Sweet Sugarplum enamel dots from the 2015-2017 Enamel Shapes pack to the tag to finish it.

I stamped the sentiment and medallions from the Frosted Medallions stamp set in Sweet Sugarplum and Soft Sky inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock inside the card.

  1. Who would have thunk to put Soft Sky with Sweet Sugarplum? They go beautifully together as you showed us. The metallic ribbon adds a light sophisticated touch, it says “look at me” 😉 You always have the best details Amy!

  2. Very pretty take on this weeks sketch, Amy! Love your clean design! Thanks so much for playing along with us over at Retro Sketches!
