Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up Congratulations

I used the Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up stamp set bundle to create a clean and simple congratulations card to share with you today.

My card design was inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #213.

I started by adding just water with an Aqua Painter all over a panel of watercolor paper.  I added a little Soft Sky ink with my Aqua Painter to create the watercolor wash background.  Then I set the panel aside to dry completely.

I stamped the sentiment from the Lift Me Up stamp set in VersaMark ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock, sprinkled it with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I cut the sentiment out with one of the Up & Away Thinlits Dies.  I also cut two smaller clouds from the same panel with the smaller Up & Away Thinlits Dies.  I used the “negative” piece of Whisper White card stock leftover from the die cuts to create a stencil and I sponged Soft Sky ink in cloud shapes over the watercolor paper.

I stamped the three balloon images from the Lift Me Up stamp set in VersaMark ink on panels of Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach ad So Saffron card stocks.  I sprinkled the images with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and I heat embossed them and then cut the images out with the matching Up & Away Thinlits Dies  I adhered the two balloons on the left to the watercolor paper with Glue Dots and the balloon on the right with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered the cloud die cut with the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then tucked the two smaller clouds under the balloon die cuts, adhering them with Glue Dots.  I adhered the watercolor paper to a panel of Soft Sky card stock with Fast Fuse Adhesive and then adhered the layered panel to a Soft Sky card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I sponged a little Soft Sky ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock using the cloud stencils.  I inked the balloon image from the Lift Me Up stamp set in Peekaboo Peach ink and stamped it on scrap paper and then on the Whisper White card stock panel.  I added the sentiment in Flirty Flamingo ink to finish the inside of the card.

You can see a complete list of supplies for creating this card, including card stock cuts at the very bottom of this post.

  1. Very nice. Love the stenciling. I wouldn’t have thought to do that. This set is great for lots of occasions.

  2. So pretty – love how you used white embossing on colored cardstock. It gives the balloons a different look, and they are colored without any effort 🙂 The stenciled clouds are the perfect backdrop – I will have to remember that trick!

  3. On my way to work yesterday morning, I saw about a dozen balloons rise up from behind the mountains. What a glorious site you have depicted!

  4. So much to like about this card! Not just cut out and put on there; your quality and extra steps are why your cards stand above the rest!
