Stampin’ Up! Just Add Text Bird Card

I used the Stampin’ Up! Just Add Text stamp set and the Birds & Blooms Thinlits Dies to create my card to share today.

My card design was inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #265.

The die cuts on my card were inspired by Just Us Girls #396.

I started by adhering a panel from the Fresh Florals DSP Stack to a panel of Whisper White card stock and then to a Thick Whisper White card base with SNAIL.

I stamped the sentiment from the Just Add Text stamp set in VersaMark ink on a panel of Soft Sky card stock, sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I stamped the crosshatch image from the Best Birds photopolymer stamp set in Soft Sky ink on the lower part of that panel and then adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Gold Foil Sheets and then to the card front with SNAIL.

I stamped the branch image from the Best Birds stamp set in Crumb Cake ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and I used a Blender Pen along with Crumb Cake and Pear Pizzazz inks to add a little color.  I cut the image out with the matching Birds & Blooms Thinlits die an adhered it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the card front.  I snipped the end of the branch so that it was even with the Soft Sky panel

I die cut the bird from Whisper White card stock with the die from the Birds & Blooms Thinlits Die and then sponged a little Powder Pink, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Peekaboo Peach (over the feet and beak) with Sponge Daubers and then adhered the die cut to the card front with touches of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I added a gold enamel dot from the Metallic Enamel Shapes pack next to the sentiment to finish the card front.

I die cut one of the little birds from Whisper White card stock with the Birds & Blooms Thinlits Die, sponged it with Powder Pink, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede inks and then adhered it with touches of Multipurpose Liquid Glue to a Whisper White panel inside the card.

  1. what a pretty card and I completely overlooked that stamp set, what great sentiments it has, on my next order for sure.

  2. Love this! The Best Birds set is one I use often and will probably keep it forever! Of course, I like birds. Speaking of which, I am so happy to see Bobwhite Quail walking around in my front yard every day! Think they have a nest somewhere close by.

  3. Love what you have done with that bird die. Sponging him is genius, really makes him pop on the card! Beautiful design too! Great take on the challenge, thanks so much for playing along with us this week over at Just Us Girls!

  4. Your bird is so fabulous Amy! Your watercoloring came out beautifully. I couldn’t believe it was a die, I thought for sure it was from a kit or something, lol 😁 PS: I love all of your card too 😉

  5. Your bird is gorgeous! I love how you used it with the sketch–inside and out! I’ll have to look at that text set again too!
