Stampin’ Up! Bike Ride for Sunday Stamps

I used the Stampin’ Up! Bike Ride stamp set bundle to create my card for the Sunday Stamps color challenge this week.  This is one of the teacher thank you cards that I’m sending to school with my younger daughter to thank her amazing teacher for a great school year.

Here are the colors for Sunday Stamps SSC179.  Be sure to stop by the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the other design team members created and to play along too!

The design for my card was inspired by Global Design Project #GDP138.

I started by embossing a panel of Balmy Blue card stock (available June 1) with the cobblestone die from the Build a Bike Framelits Dies and the Big Shot Embossing Mats (available June 1).  I adhered the embossed panel to a panel of Lovely Lipstick card stock (available June 1) with SNAIL and then adhered the layered panel to a Pacific Point card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Varied Vases photopolymer stamp set (available June 1) in Lovely Lipstick ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock, then inked the line image from the Abstract Impressions photopolymer stamp set (available June 1) in Balmy Blue ink (available June 1), stamped it on scrap paper and then stamped it over the sentiment.  I adhered the sentiment panel to a panel from the 2018-2020 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP and then to the card front with SNAIL.

I used my Stamparatus along with Night of Navy, Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, Melon Mambo, Lovely Lipstick and Berry Burst inks to stamp the images from the Bike Ride photopolymer stamp set on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I love that I can stamp over the images repeatedly with this awesome tool!  It’s also really easy to line up the photopolymer stamps with it since I can lay the stamp on top of the previously stamped image in exactly the place that I want it, close the lid to pick up the stamp and then add ink and stamp!

I cut the images out with the coordinating Build a Bike Framelits Dies.  I also cut the basket, streamers and butterflies with dies from the Build a Bike Framelits Dies from Berry Burst, Pacific Point and Melon Mambo card stocks.  I adhered the bike pieces together and then to the card front with touches of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I snipped a banner end in a small piece from the 2018-20 In Color 6×6 DSP and then tied a strand of Night of Navy Medium Baker’s Twine around it.  I adhered the banner to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish it.

Since this is a teacher card, I though that the apples from the Bike Ride stamp set and the “thanks” sentiment from the Varied Vases stamp set were the perfect finishing touch inside the card.  The apples were stamped in Night of Navy, Lovely Lipstick and Granny Apple Green (available June 1) inks and the sentiment was stamped in Pacific Point ink.

  1. When I saw your “oopsie” the other day, I was hoping you would post the card…and you did! I think the teacher will be very impressed with your card AND the fact that you are thanking her. So many teachers go unthanked. I have friends who are bikers and were married on July 4. These colors and this bundle will be perfect for an anniversary card. They just returned from a two-week bike ride throughout many states…not my cup of tea! Thanks for sharing.
