Stampin’ Up! Animal Outing for Sunday Stamps

I used the Stampin’ Up! Animal Outing stamp set bundle to create my card for the Sunday Stamps color challenge this week.

Here are the colors for Sunday Stamps SSC181…I accidentally used bright red instead of bright pink, yikes!  Be sure to stop by the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the other design team members created and to play along too!

My card design was inspired by Global Design Project #GDP142.

I started by embossing a panel of Shaded Spruce card stock with the Subtle Embossing Folder.  I adhered a panel from the Animal Expedition DSP to the embossed panel with SNAIL and then adhered the layered panel to another panel of Shaded Spruce card stock with SNAIL.  I wrapped a strand of Linen Thread around the panel three times and tied a bow and then adhered the layered panel to a Shaded Spruce card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the clouds from the This Little Piggy stamp set in Pool Party ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and then cut the panel with a die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  Then I stamped the giraffe images from the Animal Outing stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a separate panel of Whisper White card stock.  I colored them with my Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends and the Bronze Stampin’ Blends Marker.

I cut the giraffe out with the coordinating Animal Friends Thinlits Dies.  I also cut some branches from Shaded Spruce card stock with one of the Animal Friend Thinlits Dies and I adhered the die cut pieces to the die cut circle with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I trimmed the excess from around the edges and adhered the die cut circle with SNAIL to a circle cut from Poppy Parade card stock with a Layering Circles Framelits Dies.  I adhered the layered circle to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Animal Outing stamp set in Shaded Spruce ink and punched it out with the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch.  I adhered the sentiment to a 1-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch with SNAIL and then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I stamped the three little flowers from the Sweet Storybook photopolymer stamp set in Poppy Parade ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock, cut them out with the coordinating Storybook Scene Thinlits Dies and adhered them to the card front with touches of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I added three Metallic Pearls to finish the card front.

I stamped the Animal Outing stamp set images in Daffodil Delight and Shaded Spruce inks on a Whisper White card stock panel inside the card.

    • Thanks Jane! It’s certainly worth trying…my drawing skills are pretty limited, let me know if it works for you! 🙂
