Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Baubles Christmas Card in Gold

I used the awesome Beautiful Baubles stamp set bundle from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! 2018 Holiday Catalog to create my card to share with you today.

My card is loosely based on Freshly Made Sketches #351.

I started by embossing a panel of Whisper White card stock with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.  I adhered the embossed panel to the front of a Thick Whisper White card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then I stamped the image from the Beautiful Baubles photopolymer stamp set (available Sept 5) across a Whisper White card stock panel, sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.

***Quick Tip:  Stamp each image and emboss it before trying to line up and stamp the next image when you are using VersaMark Ink on light or white card stocks.

I adhered two strips of Gold Foil Sheets to the top and bottom of the stamped panel and then adhered the panel to the card front with SNAIL.  I stamped the ornament image from the Beautiful Baubles stamp set in VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a second panel of Whisper White card stock.  I carefully used my Shaded Spruce (available Sept 5), Real Red (available Sept 5) and Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blends Combo Packs to color the embossed images.  I cut the images out with the Detailed Baubles Thinlits Dies (available Sept 5).

***Quick Tip:  When coloring heat embossed images with your Stampin’ Blends Markers, don’t try to truly blend the images or color over the embossed areas.  The alcohol ink reacts with the embossing powder and sort-of melts it.  It’s not recommended to use the two together, but I’ve found it to be okay as long as I don’t color over the image or try to do a lot of blending. 🙂

I stamped the sentiment from the Beautiful Baubles stamp set in VersaMark ink on a panel of Shaded Spruce card stock and heat embossed it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I punched the end of the panel with the Banner Triple Punch and adhered it with SNAIL over the card front.  I adhered the die cut ornaments with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish the card front.

I stamped the sentiment and ornament images from the Beautiful Baubles stamp set in Shaded Spruce and Sahara Sand inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock to finish the inside of the card.

  1. I don’t know why you say “loosely”–it’s a great take on the sketch and a big winner. You are so creative! Gorgeous card. Thanks for the extra tips today.

  2. Such a creative use of the sketch!! I love that you colored the three ornaments – they fit into the background and they match the sketch! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
