Stampin’ Up! Happy Tails Thankful Card

I used the Stampin’ Up! Happy Tails stamp set bundle and the Country Home stamp set to create a quick thank you card to share with you today.  I’m trying out a new “Lunchtime Live” series of Facebook where I’m planning to hop on Facebook Live on Tuesday around lunchtime (approximately noon ET) to do a quick card video tutorial.  So hope to see you next Tuesday at 12:00 noon ET over on my Facebook page!

This is the card that I made on my video yesterday:

My card design was loosely inspired by Sketch Saturday #545.

I started by adhering a panel from the Wood Textures DSP Stack to a panel of Soft Suede card stock with SNAIL.  Then I cut a panel of Pool Party DSP from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP pack with one of the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies.  I adhered the die cut rectangle with SNAIL to the larger panel.

I wrapped a strand of Linen Thread around the panel twice and tied a Needlepoint Nook Mini Buttons to the card front with it.  I adhered the layered panel to a Pool Party card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Country Home photopolymer stamp set in Soft Suede ink on a panel of Pool Party card stock.  I stamped the paw prints from the Happy Tails photopolymer stamp set in Pool Party ink over the sentiment and then cut it out with the same Rectangle Stitched Framelits Die.  I adhered the die cut sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.

I stamped the dog image from the Happy Tails stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and then colored it with the Light Daffodil Delight and the Color Lifter Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I punched the dog image out with the Dog Builder Punch and adhered it with Glue Dots to the card front.  I added three of the Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins around the die cuts to finish the card front.

I stamped the paw print image from the Happy Tails stamp set in Pool Party ink across a panel of Whisper White card stock to finish the inside of the card.

You can see the list of supplies, including card stock cuts, used to create this card at the very bottom of this blog post.

What do you think…did I get close to making the dog look like our dog Ginny??  🙂

  1. Can you imagine if Ginny and Finn had puppies? Oh, my, look at those eyes! Yes, your fake dog is colored perfectly and your card is great. Ginny could very well have posed for the stamp maker.

  2. Love your card, your pooch, and your video…in no particular order! ;D
And I like the idea for short lunchtime live. It’s really hard for me to watch videos longer than that. Hope to see more!

    • Thanks Barb! Glad that you liked my card and the idea of a short video. 🙂 I’m planning to keep them at or under 15 minutes…that’s my goal with it!

  3. Your dog is so adorable. I love, love, love the card. This is stamp set is AWESOME!! Thank you for the video. Look to seeing more. Thank you for sharing everyday.

    • Hahaha…that’s just her normal, “Why are you taking my picture and not petting me??” look. She’s a very sweet dog! 🙂

  4. Cute card! Love this stamp set and love coordinating punches – makes life so much easier! Great coloring on the little pup and the overall colors of the card too – soft and beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing and for participating in the Sketch Saturday Challenge # 545. Have a wonderful day!
