Stampin’ Up! Piece of Cake Birthday Card

I used the Stampin’ Up! Piece of Cake stamp set bundle and a little of my favorite How Sweet It Is DSP to create a fun birthday card to share with you today.

My card design is loosely based on Freshly Made Sketches #371.

I started by adhering a panel from the How Sweet It Is DSP to a panel of Coastal Cabana card stock with SNAIL and then to a Highland Heather card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I adhered a small panel of the How Sweet It Is DSP to a panel of Gorgeous Grape card stock and then to the card front with SNAIL.

I stamped the candle image from the Piece of Cake photopolymer stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and then colored the images with Light Highland Heather, Light Lovely Lipstick, Dark Pool Party and Dark Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I cut around the candles with one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  I stamped the cake and plate images from the Piece of Cake stamp set and colored the cake with Dark Highland Heather, Dark Pool Party, Light Bermuda Bay and Light Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blends Markers and the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Markers for the plate.

I punched the stamped images out with the Cake Builder Punch and then adhered the cake with Glue Dots and the plate with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I stamped the sentiment from the Piece of Cake stamp set in Gorgeous Grape ink on a strip of Whisper White card stock, punched the end with the Banner Triple Punch and then adhered it with SNAIL to a strip of the How Sweet It Is DSP that had also been punched with the Banner Triple Punch.  I adhered the sentiment banners to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals under the right side and SNAIL under the left.  I added three Gorgeous Grape enamel dots from the Glitter Enamel Dots pack to finish the card front.

I stamped the sentiments from the Piece of Cake stamp set in Gorgeous Grape and Coastal Cabana inks and the candles in Highland Heather ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I used the Dark Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blends Marker to color the flames on the candles to finish the inside of the card.
