Stampin’ Up! Sailing Home for the Ink It Stamp It Design Team Blog Hop

Welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Blog Hop! This is a group of amazing stampers so be sure to hop through the full line up below so that you can see all of the projects!  This month we are showcasing techniques done with Stampin’ Up! products and I’ve used the Sailing Home stamp set bundle for my card.  I tend to keep my techniques pretty basic, so I’ve done some sponging and stamping off as well as a little die cutting on my project today.

I started by sponging the edges of a panel of Come Sail Away DSP with Soft Suede ink.  I adhered the panel to a panel of Balmy Blue card stock with SNAIL and then to a Soft Suede card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Sailing Home stamp set in Soft Suede ink on a panel of Balmy Blue card stock.  I inked the compass image from the Sailing Home stamp set in Soft Suede ink, stamped it on scrap paper and then stamped it on the Balmy Blue panel.  I repeated that process two more times and then cut the sentiment out with a Stitched Rectangle Die.  I snipped the die cut into two pieces and adhered them with SNAIL so that there was about a 3/4″ gap between the two pieces (covered by the next die cut layer).

I cut a panel of Sahara Sand card stock with another Stitched Rectangle Die and inked the bird image from the Sailing Home stamp set in Soft Suede ink, stamped it off once and then stamped it over the die cut panel two times.  I sponged the edges of the panel with Soft Suede ink and then adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the lighthouse image from the Sailing Home stamp set in Soft Suede ink on a panel of Sahara Sand card stock and then cut it out with the coordinating Smooth Sailing Die.  I adhered the die cut image to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added three gold pearls from the Metallic Pearls pack to finish the card front.

I inked the compass images from the Sailing Home stamp set in Soft Suede ink, stamped it off and then stamped it over a panel of Sahara Sand card stock three times.  I sponged the edges of the panel very lightly with Soft Suede ink and then adhered it inside the card to finish it.

  1. This is one of my favorites that you have created…the light browns, light blues, sponging, DSP, metallic jewels…fantastic! It’s a “must CASE” for me!! AND, I’ll be CASEing your card from yesterday once I get my washi tape 🙂

  2. I love this bundle definately one of my favourites! I’m glad you’ve highlighted the stamping off in a lighter colour it’s something that can really bring a card together!
