Petite Pocket Ornament Box

I’m heading to an ornament exchange party on Monday and I needed to wrap up my ornament.  I pulled out my Petite Pocket Bigz XL Die and this is what I came up with.

Here is the list of products that you will need to make this box:

  • Petite Pocket Bigz XL Die (123131)
  • Sticky Strip (104294)
  • Snow Festival Designer Series Paper (126908)
  • Baja Breeze Card Stock (111352)
  • Cherry Cobbler 3-1/2″ Scalloped Tulle Ribbon (127841)

This was actually very quick to put together.  I started by cutting 6 Petite Pockets out of Baja Breeze Card Stock.  I cut the bottom flap to 2 inches long.  Set aside two of the pieces that you cut off, you’ll need those later to form the top.

Then I cut 6 pieces of the Snow Festival DSP to 2″ x 4″ and adhered the DSP to the center of each of the Petite Pocket die cuts.  I also ran Sticky Strip down one side (the same side of each one) of each die cut.  I added about a 1 inch piece of sticky strip to the same side on the bottom of 5 of the 6 Petite Pockets.

Then I started to stick the sides together.

I attached all 6 of the panels together to form a hexagon.

Then I attached 5 of the 6 bottom flaps together.  For the last flap, I placed the Sticky Strip across the bottom.

I adhered the last flap to close up the bottom of the box.

Then I took the two ends that I’d set aside and added them to two of the box top flaps.  Make sure that you choose two flaps that are across from each other.

After tucking the ornament inside, I closed the flaps and tied the Cherry Cobbler Tulle Ribbon around the entire box.

And one last picture for you:

To change it a little bit, you could easily stamp images on the box sides or add embossed panels for a different look.  Hope that you have fun putting your own ornament boxes together!
