White Christmas Window Scene – Stampin’ Up!

As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew that I’d be using the White Christmas stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create a little winter window scene.

My card design was inspired by Pals Paper Arts #221.

I started by masking of a square area on a Soft Sky card base.  I knew that my window would be 3-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ square, so I taped off a square that was about 3-3/8″ x 3-3/8″ with blue painters tape (Yikes!  Look at that mess on my grid paper behind my card!  It does get quite well used).  🙂

Once I’d taped off the square, I stamped the tree image from the White Christmas photopolymer stamp set in StazOn Jet Black ink inside the square.  Then I stamped the snowman and cardinal images from the White Christmas stamp set in StazOn Jet Black Ink inside the square.

I colored the snow on the ground and the snowman with my White Stampin’ Chalk Marker, then colored the trees, bird and snowman pieces with my Crumb Cake, Real Red, Garden Green and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Markers.  I stamped the snow image from the White Christmas stamp set in Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Ink over the background, then added a little “snow” to the tree branches with my White Stampin’ Chalk Marker.

I carefully peeled up the blue painters tape and gave the background a quick shot with my Heat Tool to dry the Craft Ink.  I stamped the Hardwood image in Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Ink on a panel of Crumb Cake card stock, dried it with my Heat Tool and cut six 3/8″ x 3-1/2″ strips from it.  I adhered the window frame together with SNAIL, then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I tied a bow from Real Red 3/8″ Satin Woven Ribbon and adhered it to the top of the window frame with a Glue Dot.

I stamped the sentiment from the Watercolor Wonder Too photopolymer stamp set in Real Red ink on a leftover piece of the Crumb Cake card stock that was stamped with the Hardwood image.  I punched the ends of the sentiment strip with my Hexagon Punch then adhered it to a strip of Real Red card stock with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I finished the card front by adhering the layered sentiment to the Soft Sky card base with SNAIL.

I stamped the sentiments from the White Christmas photopolymer stamp set in Real Red ink on a Whisper White panel, then stamped the snowman image in StazOn Jet Black and colored it with my Stampin’ Write Markers to complete the inside of the card.
