Stampin’ Up! Love & Sympathy Card

Unfortunately, I needed to send a sympathy card this past week to a sweet friend that I met through Stampin’ Up! who lost her Mother-In-Law (also a sweet lady that I met through Stampin’ Up!).  I used the Love & Sympathy stamp set to create a card for her in shades of purple.

The colors for my card were inspired by the Sunday Stamps SSC89 color challenge.

I started by inking up a Brayer with Wisteria Wonder ink and rolling it on the inside of the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder.  I carefully placed a panel of Very Vanilla card stock inside the folder and ran it through the Big Shot.

I adhered the embossed panel to a panel of Perfect Plum card stock with SNAIL.  I wrapped two strands of Wisteria Wonder 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon around the panel, adhering them with SNAIL.  Then I adhered the layered panel to a Wisteria Wonder card base with SNAIL.

I colored the flower image from the Love & Sympathy stamp set with my Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped it on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Perfect Plum ink (using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to help with placement) over the flower image.  I cut the stamped panel with an Ovals Collection Framelits Die, then adhered it to a Perfect Plum oval that I’d cut with the next size up Ovals Collection Framelits die.

I adhered the layered ovals to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then tied a double bow from Wisteria Wonder Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot to finish the card front.

I colored the flower image again in Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzazz inks, stamped it off once on scrap paper, then stamped it on a Very Vanilla panel.  I stamped the sentiment from the Love & Sympathy stamp set in Perfect Plum over the flower image on the inside of the card.
