I used the Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Reason for the Season to create my card to share for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop.  We’re all sharing Christmas card ideas, so be sure to hop around the circle to see the fantastic projects that everyone created!

My card design was inspired by Retrosketches #181.

I started by adhering a panel from the Home for Christmas DSP pack to a Very Vanilla card stock panel with SNAIL.  Then I punched the end of a wide strip of DSP from the Home for Christmas DSP pack with the Triple Banner Punch, then adhered it over the larger DSP panel with SNAIL.

I punched the end of a strip of White Vellum with the Banner Triple Punch (it was just a touch wider than the punch, so I trimmed the extra tabs with my Paper Snips), then stamped the sentiment from the Reason for the Season photopolymer stamp set in VersaMark Ink on the banner.  I sprinkled the sentiment with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder, heat embossed it, then adhered it with Glue Dots (hidden under the ribbon area) to the card front.

I tied a bow around the layered panel with Very Vanilla 1-1/4″ Subtle Stripes Satin Ribbon, then adhered the panel to a Cherry Cobbler card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I stamped three of the medium sized leaf images from the Reason for the Season stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink on a panel of Old Olive card stock and I punched them out with the matching Festive Flower Builder Punch and set them aside.

I stamped eight of the medium leaf images and two of the small leaf images from the Reason for the Season stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on a panel of Cherry Cobbler card stock and I punched them out with the Festive Flower Builder Punch.  I started assembling the flower by running my Simply Scored Stylus down the center of each petal and sightly bending them up.  I adhered the eight medium sized petals with Glue Dots to a 1-1/4″ Circle Punch from Cherry Cobbler Card Stock.  Then I adhered the two smaller petal punches over the center of the flower with Glue Dots.

I punched the very center of the flower from Crushed Curry card stock with the Festive Flower Builder Punch and adhered the punches with Glue Dots to the flower.  I added a Pearl Basic Jewel over the punches, then adhered the three Old Olive leaves to the back of the flower with Glue Dots.  I adhered the completed flower with Glue Dots to finish the front of the card.

I inked the poinsettia images from the Reason for the Season stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow and Crushed Curry inks, stamped them off on scrap paper twice, then stamped them on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I added the sentiment from the Versatile Christmas stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink over the stamped off images to complete the inside of the card.
