Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Ride Yellow VW

I used the Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Ride stamp set to create my card to share with you today.

My card design was loosely based on the Hand Stamped Sentiments #232.

The colors for my card were inspired by Global Design Project GDP#025.

I started by adhering a panel of Basic Gray DSP from the Neutrals DSP Stack to a panel of Basic Gray card stock with SNAIL, then to a Smoky Slate card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I punched the end of a strip of Daffodil Delight DSP from the Brights DSP Stack with the Banner Triple Punch, then adhered it over the card front with SNAIL.  I cut an oval from Smoky Slate card stock with an Ovals Collection Framelits die and I adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.

I stamped the car image from the Beautiful Ride photopolymer stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a panel of watercolor paper, sprinkled it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I used my Aqua Painter and Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate and Basic Gray inks to watercolor the image.

A quick tip…since the Basic Gray ink pad is now a permanent ink, I used my Basic Gray Stampin’ Write Marker and an acrylic block to watercolor.  Simply scribble a little ink on the block with the felt tip of the Stampin’ Write Marker, then use your Aqua Painter to pick up the ink from the block.  It works great!

Once I had the image watercolored, I cut it out and adhered it to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I stamped the two puppy images in VersaMark ink on the watercolor panel, heat embossed them with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder, watercolored them and snipped them out.  I adhered the puppies inside the car windows with Glue Dots.

I stamped the sentiment from the Beautiful Ride stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a strip of Whisper White card stock, heat embossed it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder, punched the end with the Banner Punch, then adhered it with SNAIL to the card front.  I pulled a strand of Basic Black Baker’s Twine through a Silver Basic Metal Button, tied a bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot to finish the card front.

I inked the car image in Smoky Slate ink and the flower image in Daffodil Delight ink, stamped them on scrap paper once, then stamped them on a Whisper White panel inside the card.
