Stampin’ Up! Heartland Father’s Day Card for Stamp Ink Paper

I used the Stampin’ Up! Heartland and Guy Greetings stamps to create my card for the Stamp Ink Paper fancy fold challenge this week.  I don’t do “fancy” cards, so this is about as fancy as I could get!  🙂

Here is the challenge banner for Stamp Ink Paper #150.  Hope that you’ll stop by to play along too!

The card is basically a z-fold with an additional flap.  I am sure that there is probably an “official” name for this type of fold, but I don’t know what it is.  The focal panel is adhered on a smaller card that is adhered to a larger z-fold card base.

The image above is how the flap opens and the image below is how the card looks when it is opened completely.

I started by scoring a 4-1/4″ x 11″ panel of Early Espresso card stock at 2-3/4″ x 5-1/2″.  Then I adhered panels from the Wood Textures DSP Stack to panels of Merry Merlot card stock (available June 1) with SNAIL.  I adhered the layered panels to the left and right of the score lines as shown below.

Then I stamped the barn image from the Heartland stamp set in Sahara Sand ink on a panel of Sahara Sand card stock.  I stamped the sentiment from the Guy Greetings photopolymer stamp set (retiring May 31) in Merry Merlot ink (available June 1) and then I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Merry Merlot card stock with SNAIL.  I adhered the layered panel to the front of the small card with Stampin’ Dimensionals so that it was facing the opposite way that a card would normally open.  The small card base measures 3-1/4″ x 9″ and is scored at 4-1/2″.

Then I stamped the tractor image from the Heartland stamp set in Sahara Sand ink on a panel of Sahara Sand card stock.  I stamped the sentiment from the Dragonfly Dreams photopolymer stamp set in Merry Merlot ink on the same panel and then adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Merry Merlot card stock and then to the inside of the small card with SNAIL.

I adhered the small card to the larger card base with SNAIL so that it was centered on the bottom DSP panel.

I folded the card closed and then pulled a strand of Linen Thread through one of the True Gentleman Buttons and tied a small knot on the back.  I adhered the button to the card front with a Glue Dot to finish it.
