Petal Parade with a few Gold Touches & New Online Hostess Clubs – Stampin’ Up!

Well, so far so good…we’ve still got power and the snow and ice is supposed to be coming to an end this morning!  Good news for the Atlanta area, sure hope that all of my other friends in the southeast are seeing the end to this yucky weather soon too!

I used the Petal Parade stamp set that is a Sale-a-bration exclusive item from Stampin’ Up! to create my card today.  My card design was inspired by Retrosketches #101 and the colors were inspired by The Paper Players #182.

I started by stamping the images from the Petal Parade stamp set (Sale-a-bration item) in Midnight Muse and Crisp Cantaloupe inks on a Whisper White Panel that I’d cut at an angle.  I didn’t do any specific measuring on the angle, just marked approximately how big I wanted to panel to be with a little dash then placed the panel in my Stampin’ Trimmer and cut it at an angle.

Then I stamped the small flower images from the Petal Parade stamp set in VersaMark Ink on the panel, sprinkled them with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them.  Next, I adhered a narrow strip from the Gold Foil Sheets to the top of the angle cut panel with SNAIL.

I used my Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Addition and the Tiny Wave Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Cutting Blade to cut a thin strip of Midnight Muse card stock and I adhered that behind the Gold Foil Sheet with SNAIL.  ***One tip to make this type of layering easier and to conserve on paper:  Cut narrow strips that are longer than the span of your angle and adhere them as you’d like.  Then use your trimmer or paper snips to cut off the excess flush with the edge of your main panel.  That way you don’t have to try to make the angled cuts exactly the same and you won’t need a big panel of card stock either.

I adhered the angled panel with SNAIL over a panel of Crisp Cantaloupe card stock that I’d embossed with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (Sale-a-bration item).  Then I adhered the panel to a Midnight Muse card base.  I punched out an Artisan Label Punch (on sale through Feb 17 for 25% off) from Gold Foil Sheets, cut it in half and adhered it with SNAIL behind a banner that I’d cut from Midnight Muse card stock with a Banner Framelits Die.  I cut a banner from Crisp Cantaloupe card stock with the same Banner Framelits Die but I trimmed it down just a little from the top, bottom and left side and I adhered it over the Midnight Muse banner with SNAIL.  I cut the “hi” sentiment using one of the dies from the Label Card Thinlits Die set from Midnight Muse card stock and I adhered it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the banner.  I finished the card front by adding an In Color Dahlias with a Glue Dot to dot the “i”.

I stamped the images from the Petal Parade stamp set on a Whisper White panel inside the card to finish it.
