Wetlands Birthday Card – Stampin’ Up!

I used the Wetlands stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create a masculine birthday card to share with you today. My card design was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #138 and CAS-ual Fridays CFC132.

I started by embossing a panel of Chocolate Chip card stock with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I adhered the embossed panel to a panel of Hello Honey card stock with SNAIL, then to a Mossy Meadow card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I colored the bird image from the Wetlands stamp set with my Chocolate Chip and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Markers and I stamped it on a Very Vanilla panel. Then I stamped the image again on a Post-it note and cut it out with my Paper Snips to create a mask.

I placed the mask over the stamped image, then inked up the sea grass image from the Wetlands stamp set with my Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped it over the masked image. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Wetlands stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink on the panel and I rounded the corners with the Project Life Corner Punch.

I layered the stamped image over a panel of Mossy Meadow card stock that I’d also punched with the Project Life Corner Punch. Then I adhered a loop of Mossy Meadow 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon to the back of the layered panel with SNAIL and tied a bit of Linen Thread through a Basic Metal Button and I adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot. I finished the card by adhering the stamped panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I colored the sea grass image again and stamped it on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock to complete the inside of the card.
