Stampin’ Up! Vertical Garden Hello

I used the Stampin’ Up! Vertical Garden stamp set to create a chalkboard technique “hello” card to share with you today.

The chalkboard design for my card was inspired by Cupcake Inspiration CIC395.

And this one also works for Global Design Project #GDP075 so I figured that I’d put another one in their challenge too.  🙂

I started by adhering a panel of Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper from the Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack (Sale-a-bration item) to a panel of Whisper White card stock with SNAIL.  Before I adhered the layered Glimmer Paper panel to the Basic Black card front, I punched holes with the 3/4″ Circle Punch in four places (making sure that they’d be hidden by the focal panel).

I adhered the layered Glimmer Paper panel to the Basic Black card base with SNAIL and then adhered Stampin’ Dimensionals to the Basic Black card base so that I could attach the focal panel to it.  This works very well for adhering layers over Glimmer Paper since most adhesives won’t stick well to it.

I stamped the sentiment and leaf images from the Vertical Garden stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a panel of Basic Black card stock.  I sprinkled the images with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them.  I decided that I wanted to add a little color to the leaves, so I used a Blender Pen and Bermuda Bay ink to color them.  Then I did a quick heat with the Heat Tool to set the ink.  It dried a nice light blue shade and it doesn’t smudge!

I used a Stamping Sponge wedge and a little Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Ink to add white ink around the edges and over the stamped images to give it the chalkboard effect.  I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Whisper White card stock with SNAIL and then to the card front with the Stampin’ Dimensionals that I’d placed in the hole punches on the card front.

I stamped the small butterfly image from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set in VersaMark ink on a panel of Bermuda Bay card stock, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I punched the image out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  I cut flowers with the Botanical Builder Framelits Die from Bermuda Bay card stock and adhered them to the card front with rolled up Glue Dots.  I finished the card front by adding Pearl Basic Jewels to the center of the flowers.

I kept the inside simple with just the loop image from the Vertical Garden stamp set stamped in Bermuda Bay ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.

You can find a list of supplies, including card stock cuts, at the very bottom of this post.
