Stampin’ Up! Queen Bee Birthday Card

I used the Stampin’ Up! Queen Bee stamp set bundle to create a birthday card to share with you today.  The design for my card was inspired by a pretty card that I saw on Nikki Spencer’s blog here.

I started by adhering two small strips of Dandy Designs DSP ($100 level Sale-a-bration item) to the top and bottom of a Balmy Blue card base with Stampin’ Seal.  Then I cut a panel of Basic White card stock with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies and I adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Seal.

I cut a panel of Balmy Blue card stock with the leaf die from the Queen Bee Dies two times and then adhered the die cuts to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I cut a panel of gold paper from the Fine Shimmer Paper Pack with one of the Something Fancy Dies.  I snipped the die cut in half and then adhered the two pieces with Stampin’ Seal to the card front so that they overlapped the edges of the die cut rectangle slightly.

I cut a panel of Basic White card stock with another one of the Something Fancy Dies and then inked the background stamp with Balmy Blue ink, stamped it on scrap paper and then stamped it over the die cut several times.  I adhered the die cut panel to the card front with Stampin’ Seal.  Then I adhered a small length of Balmy Blue/White 1/2″ Variegated Ribbon to the card front in a wide “z” with Stampin’ Seal.

I stamped the bee, flowers and birthday sentiments from the Queen Bee stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Basic White card stock.  I colored the flowers with Light Balmy Blue and So Saffron Stampin’ Blends Markers and then cut the images out with the coordinating Queen Bee Dies.  I adhered the flowers with Mini Glue Dots and the bee and sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.  Then I cut a heart from Balmy Blue card stock with one of the Queen Bee Dies and I adhered it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the bee die cut.  I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the sentiment die cut to finish the card.

I stamped the bee image from the Queen Bee stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Basic White card stock and then added a strip of Dandy Designs DSP to finish the inside of the card.
