Stampin’ Up! Hey Chick for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

happy-inkin-thursday-blog-hop-bannerI used the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration exclusive Hey, Chick stamp set to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today.  We’ve got a sketch challenge and this is what I created for it.

Here is the sketch that we’re using this week:

I started by inking the raised side of the Hexagon Dynamic Embossing Folder with Soft Suede ink.  To do this, I very lightly tapped my Soft Suede ink pad over the raised side of the embossing folder.  Then I ran a panel of Crumb Cake card stock through the Big Shot inside the embossing folder so that it embossed and inked it at the same time.  I adhered the embossed panel to the lower half of a panel of Soft Suede card stock with SNAIL.

I stamped the image from the Hardwood stamp set image in Cherry Cobbler ink on a panel of Cherry Cobbler card stock and then adhered it to the top of the Soft Suede card stock panel with SNAIL.  I wrapped a strand of Linen Thread around the panel four times and tied a bow, then adhered the layered panel to a Cherry Cobbler card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the chicken image from the Hey, Chick stamp set (Sale-a-bration item) in Basic Black Archival Ink on a panel of watercolor paper and I watercolored the chicken image with Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler inks and the background with Soft Sky and Soft Suede inks and an Aqua Painter.  I let the image dry completely and then colored the beak and feet with a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker.

I adhered the watercolored panel to a panel of Soft Suede card stock with Fast Fuse Adhesive and to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment from the Hey, Chick stamp set in Soft Suede ink on another panel of watercolor paper and cut it out with the die from the Build It Framelits Dies.  I adhered the die cut sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish it.

I stamped the sentiment and chicken image from the Hey, Chick stamp set in Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede (stamped off twice) inks on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock inside the card.
