Welcome to the 2017 Autism Matters Blog Hop! Raising awareness and funds for research and services for those with autism is very near and dear to me…I have a daughter with autism. And I’m so honored that so many awesome Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from across the country have agreed to take part in this hop!
Each of us will be sharing a fact about autism with you so as you roll through the hop, you’ll hopefully learn a little about autism too!
Boys are 4 times more likely to have Autism than girls. This fact always puts a smile on my face…we’re definitely in the minority having a girl with autism. My daughter is typically the only girl in her classroom at school so she’s learned to be “one of the boys” too.
For our projects today, we are all using the primary colors from the autism heart above. I used the High Tide stamp set since these colors are perfect for the beach!
I used Real Red, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso to stamp the images and sentiment from the High Tide stamp set and I sponged a little Marina Mist around the edges to add a little color to the sky. The embellishments are 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon, Thick Whisper White Baker’s Twine and a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.
I even did a little fussy cutting on the lighthouse. I stamped it on the main panel and then stamped it again on separate panel and snipped around it. I adhered it over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Thanks for joining us for our blog hop! If you’d like to help by providing a donation to Autism Speaks for research and services for those affected by autism, you can click on the heart banner right here, every dollar helps!
