Valentine Mailboxes

I found a couple of cute little mailboxes in the Target $1 bins.  I decorated the mailboxes using the Happy Valentine Heart Single Stamp and the My Little Valentine Stamp Set that are available from Stampin’ Up until January 21.

Here is the list of products that you will need to create the blue mailbox:

I started by wrapping a band of 1-1/4″ More Amore DSP around the mailbox and adhered it with Sticky Strip.  Then I wrapped a band of Ruffled Ribbon around the DSP and adhered it with Sticky Strip.  I tied a Ruffled Ribbon bow and I adhered it with a couple of Glue Dots at the top of the mailbox.  Next, I stamped the heart image from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set, cut it out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Die and adhered it to the mailbox flag with Sticky Strip.  Then I cut a banner from the More Amore DSP with the banner Framelit from the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies.  Next, I cut the scalloped heart from Red Glimmer Paper using the Hearts a Flutter Framelits die.  Then I cut the banner in half and adhered the each half to the back of the scalloped heart, leaving a gap in the middle.  I adhered the heart and banner to the mailbox with Sticky Strip.  To finish the mailbox, I stamped the Happy Valentine Heart image in VersaMark ink on Very Vanilla Card Stock, sprinkled it with Pool Party Embossing Powder and heat embossed it.  I adhered it to the scalloped heart using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I punched the little heart using Real Red Card Stock and the Owl Builder Punch.  I adhered it to the embossed heart with SNAIL.

Here is the list of products that you will need to create the red mailbox:

I started by tracing the lid of the mailbox onto the Sealed with Love Simply Sent DSP and cutting it out with my scissors.  I adhered the DSP to the mailbox lid with Sticky Strip.  Then I stamped the scalloped heart image from the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set in Tangerine Tango ink on Tangerine Tango Card Stock, cut it out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Die and I adhered it with Sticky Strip to the covered mailbox lid.  Next, I punched out 8 hearts from the Sealed with Love Simply Sent DSP using the Full Heart Punch.  I adhered one of those hearts using Stampin Dimensionals over the Tangerine Tango scalloped heart on the mailbox lid.  Then I colored the for you sentiment from the My Little Valentine Stamp Set using my Stampin’ Write Markers, stamped it on Very Vanilla Card Stock, punched it out with the Small Oval Punch and adhered it over the Full Heart Punch using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Next, I attached the remaining 7 Full Heart Punches around the center of the mailbox using Sticky Strip.  I found that the hearts adhered a little easier to the rounded surfaces on the mailbox if I ran the bone folder over the hearts a few times to round them a bit.  Then I stamped the two heart images from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set on Very Vanilla Card Stock in Tangerine Tango and Real Red ink.  I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure that the heart images lined up when I stamped them.  Then I cut the 8 hearts out using the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Die.  I adhered 7 of the die cut hearts over the Full Heart Punches using Sticky Strip.  I adhered the final heart on the mailbox flag using Sticky Strip also.

And as an added bonus, the Sealed with Love Simply Sent notes fit perfectly inside the mailboxes!

My local Target also had a pink mailbox that looked very close to the color of Primrose Petals, but I thought I’d better stop at two.  🙂
