Peaceful Petals in Island Indigo – Stampin’ Up!

This is the card that I made for my Stampin’ Up! Leadership swap.  I wanted something that was fairly quick to make since I was making a bunch, yet had a big impact so I pulled out the Peaceful Petals stamp set and went to work.  My card was inspired by a fantastic card that Sandi MacIver made and you can see it here.

Peaceful Petals - Stamp With Amy K

I started by embossing an Island Indigo panel with the Arrows Embossing Folder.  I adhered the embossed panel to a Whisper White panel, then to to an Island Indigo card base with SNAIL.

Perfect Pennants - Stamp With Amy K

I cut two strips of the Watercolor Wonder DSP and punched the ends with the Hexagon Punch.  And don’t tell anyone, but to save a bit on the DSP, I cheated and cut the strips into two pieces, leaving about a 1 inch gap between them.  I adhered them to the card front with SNAIL.  Since I was layering the flower over the top, the break in the strips can’t be seen.  🙂

Then I stamped the image from the Peaceful Petals stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in VersaMark Ink on an Island Indigo panel, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I punched it out with the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch and layered it over a Whisper White circle that I’d cut with the Circles Collection Framelits die.  I adhered the layered flower image to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I stamped the sentiment using the Perfect Pennants stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Island Indigo ink and I cut it out with the matching Banners Frameits die.  I tucked it under the flower image and adhered it with SNAIL to the card front.  Then I added a few random Pearl Basic Jewels and gold sequins from the Gold Sequin Trim (using Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere them) to finish the card.  **Don’t forget that you can purchase the Perfect Pennants stamp set and Banners Framelits in a bundle and save 15% (wood mount and clear mount).

I took pictures of several of the swaps that others brought to the Leadership Conference and I’ve posted them on my Facebook page.  Click here to head over to my page to check them out.
