Stampin’ Up! Piece of Cake Sneak Peek for Fab Friday

I used the Stampin’ Up! Piece of Cake stamp set bundle from the upcoming 2019 Occasions Catalog to create a clean and simple card to share for the Fab Friday sketch challenge this week.

Here is the sketch for Fab Friday 151.  Be sure to stop by the challenge blog to play along too!

My card also works for The Paper Players 419.

I started by stamping the cake and cake plate images from the Piece of Cake photopolymer stamp set (available Jan 3) in Flirty Flamingo ink on the front of a Flirty Flamingo card base.  I stamped the cake and plate images from the Piece of Cake stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and then colored the images with Light and Dark Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Combo Packs.  I punched the images out with the Cake Builder Punch (available Jan 3).

I stamped the candle image from the Piece of Cake stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and colored the images with Light Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.  I adhered the punched cake images with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then stamped the sentiment from the Piece of Cake stamp set in Flirty Flamingo ink under the cake plate.  I wrapped two strands of Suite Season Specialty Washi Tape around the panel and then adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I pulled the Whisper White and silver pieces from the Silver & Pool Party Baker’s Twine and then pulled the Pool Party strand through one of the Needlepoint Nook Mini Buttons (available Jan 3).  I tied a small bow and then adhered the button to the card front with a Glue Dot.

I stamped the sentiment and cake from the Piece of Cake stamp set in Flirty Flamingo and Tuxedo Black Memento inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I colored the cake images with Light & Dark Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Combo Packs and then added a strip of Suite Season Specialty Washi Tape.  I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Pool Party card stock and then to the inside of the card base.

You can see a list of supplies, including card stock cuts, used to create this project at the very bottom of this blog post.

  1. Love this! How fun that you made something non-Christmas for our challenge…the soft sherbet-like colors are delicious! Cute sketch too (although I don’t see it up yet on the FF blog!!!)!! Definitely going to play with that one! Thanks so much for sharing this and playing along with my challenge this week!
