An Update On The Cloud Cover Ink Pad
As you may have heard, there have been some issues with the Cloud Cover ink pad (a new In Color from the upcoming Annual Catalog). Stampin’ Up! has provided an update to us related to that ink pad. Here are the details:
The issue with our Cloud Cover ink is complex. An unforeseen, rare chemical reaction occurred when the Cloud Cover ink was paired with the firm foam used in our Classic Stampin’ Pads, resulting in a shift in the color of the ink. While there’s no silver lining to reverse the chemistry causing the fluctuation in color, Stampin’ Up! has identified several ways to make the most of the situation.
- Because the actual Cloud Cover ink formula performs well before it’s added to a foam pad, all is not lost for customers who want to add this ink to their collection!
- The Stampin’ Spots are made using felt, and Stampin’ Up! hasn’t seen this unpredictable chemical response occur with this material.
- When the 2025–2026 Annual Catalog is available to order from on May 6, Stampin’ Up! will offer the Stampin’ Spot Assortment Pack (166716), which will include the Cloud Cover Stampin’ Spot!
- The Cloud Cover Stampin’ Spot won’t be sold outside of the assortment pack, but you can also pair the Cloud Cover Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill (165279) with the Uninked Stampin’ Spots (141822) to achieve a consistently accurate hue.
- The ink refill is a very technique-friendly product in general, making it a great core supply to have on hand!
- While these solutions don’t provide a full-sized ink pad option, they do give access to the ink.
- You can also ink your stamps using the Cloud Cover Stampin’ Write Marker, available in the 2025–2027 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers (165292) collection. This technique works especially well with cling stamps.
- Beyond the Cloud Cover Classic Stampin’ Pad, all other Cloud Cover products, including the Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill, Stampin’ Blends, Stampin’ Write Markers, Card Stock packs and Designer Series Paper packs will be available to purchase when the catalog launches on May 6.
- Unfortunately, the 2025–2027 In Color Classic Stampin’ Pad Bundle (165620) will not be available. Instead, the remaining In Color shades—Strawberry Slush, Timid Tiger, Darling Duckling, and Secret Sea—will be available for purchase individually. At this time, there are no plans to create a four-pad bundle.
- The bundle will not appear in the Online Store, though it is listed in the 2025–2026 Annual Catalog.
- The digital version of the catalog may include the product for a time, but it will ultimately be updated.
- All other In Color product collections—including the 2025–2027 8 ½” x 11″ Cardstock Assortment (165623) and the 2025–2027 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Stack (165300)—are available.
