Stampin’ Up! Sweet Bugs Hello Friend Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! Sweet Bugs stamp set bundle from the upcoming January-April 2026 Mini Catalog to create my project for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a color challenge this week and this is what I made for it.

Stampin' Up! Sweet Bugs Hello Friend Card

Here are the colors that we’re all using this week:

I started by adhering a panel of patterned paper from the Modern Christmas Specialty DSP to the front of a Basic Black card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Bugs stamp set (available January 6) in VersaMark ink on a panel of Made With Love DSP (available January 6), sprinkled it with black embossing powder from the Basics Wow! Embossing Powder and then heat embossed it.

I adhered the stamped DSP panel to a panel of Basic Black card stock with Stampin’ Seal and then adhered the layered panel to the front of the card with Stampin’ Seal.  I wrapped a strand of Linen Thread around the card front twice and tied a bow.  Then I cut a panel of Basic White card stock with one of the Perennial Postage Dies three times and then adhered the die cuts to panels of Basic Black card stock with Stampin’ Seal.  I adhered the layered squares to the card front with Stampin’ Seal.

I stamped the ladybug image from the Sweet Bugs stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Basic White card stock three times and then colored the images with Light and Dark Poppy Parade and Basic Black Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I cut the images out with the coordinating die from the Sweet Bugs Dies (available January 6) and then adhered the die cuts with Mini Glue Dots to the card front.  I added one of the Ladybug Garden Epoxy Shapes (available January 6) to finish the card front.
