I started by running a half sheet of Pool Party card stock through my Big Shot with the Circle Card Framelits Die. In order to create the extended flap, pull the card stock through the die on the end away from the circle and lay it over the top of the die as shown in the picture below. When I run this through my Big Shot, I crank it about half way through (enough the cut the circle but not all the way to the end), then reverse it and turn it back so that the extended end doesn’t go through the machine at all.
Remove the card stock from the die, turn it over and place the card on your Simply Scored Scoring Tool with the circle closest to the left side. Then score the card at 5-7/8″ (it’s a little hard to see the score line in the picture).
Place your card in the Envelope Punch Board with the circle die cut away from the punch and punch the card stock at 2-3/4″.
Trim off the card stock even with the notched punch on the top half of the card.
Apply Sticky Strip to the top and bottom of the notched flap.
Fold the flap over and adhere it to the card base to create your pocket.
And fold the other half of the card closed and embellish as you wish!
I used the Best of Christmas and Christmas Tagables stamp sets to embellish and decorate the card shown above. I started by cutting an Island Indigo circle with the Circles Collection Framelits die and I adhered it with SNAIL over the circle die cut in the Pool Party card base. Then I stamped the Dasher image in Smoky Slate ink on a Whisper White panel and I cut it out with the Circles Collection Framelits die. Then I cut a scallop circle from Smoky Slate Textured Card Stock using a die from the Circle Card Thinlits die set and I adhered it with SNAIL to the back of the Dasher image. And I adhered the layered Dasher image to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Then I cut a strip of Winter Frost Specialty DSP with the Circle Card Thinlits die and I adhered it over the left side of the card base with SNAIL. I punched a strip of Winter Frost Specialty DSP with the Envelope Punch Board, trimmed the strip from the notch to the top of the paper (just as shown in the tutorial above) and I adhered it to the pocket side of the card base with SNAIL.
Next, I cut a circle from Whisper White card stock using a Circles Collection Framelits Die and I adhered it to the back of the flip circle with SNAIL. I stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Tagables stamp set in Island Indigo ink on a Smoky Slate panel and I punched it out with the Artisan Label Punch. I punched two Artisan Label Punches from Island Indigo Textured card stock and I cut one in half lengthwise and one in half crosswise. I layered the two cut punches together behind the Smoky Slate punch and adhered them together with SNAIL. I finished the card front by adhering the layered sentiment to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Then just tuck your gift card inside, write a note on back of the flip circle and you’re done!
