Ink Block Stamping

Inking up Stampin’ Up!’s Clear-Mount Blocks makes a really awesome background.  I wanted a little more watercolor look to the background, here is how I achieved that look.

Ink Block Stamping Tutorial - Stamp With Amy K

I started by tapping my clear-mount block directly on my Tangelo Twist ink pad, then on my Blackberry Bliss ink pad.  I tapped it several times to cover the entire block in color.

I filled my Stampin’ Spritzer with water and spritzed the block 3-4 times.  Just enough so that the colors started to blend together a bit but the water wasn’t running off the block.

***A quick warning, be sure to cover your work surface, the ink will splatter when you’re spritzing.  🙂

I placed the Clear-Mount block directly onto a panel of Whisper White card stock that I’d stamped with StazOn Jet Black ink.  It was neat to watch, I could actually see the ink being pulled from the acrylic block onto the card stock.

I lifted the clear-mount block off the card stock and this is the result.  I set the image aside to let it completely dry, then added it to my card.

Here is my final card.  I used the Ink Block stamping technique for the sentiment circles too.  I used just Blackberry Bliss ink for the center circle and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink for the outer circle.  This is a simple technique that is lots of fun, so definitely give it a try!
