Stampin’ Up! Petal Potpourri Birthday Card

I used the Petal Potpourri and Sassy Salutations stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! to create my card to share today.

Petal Potpourri - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by Retrosketches #155.  Since this sketch had part of the focal image that was over the top of the card, I made the card base a little smaller than normal so that the finished card would still fit in an A2 envelope.  I cut the card base to 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ and scored it at 3-3/4″.

I started by stamping the sentiment from the Sassy Salutations stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink on a panel from the Painted Blooms DSP pack.  I adhered the stamped panel and another smaller strip of DSP from that same pack to a panel of Blackberry Bliss card stock with SNAIL, then to a Wild Wasabi card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Petal Potpourri 2 - Stamp With Amy K.

I stamped the flower image from the Petal Potpourri stamp set twice in Blackberry Bliss ink on a Whisper White panel and I punched them both out with the matching Flower Medallion Punch.  I curled the petals slightly upward then adhered the flowers together and to the card front with SNAIL.

Petal Potpourri 3 - Stamp With Amy K.

I cut two leaves with the Bouquet Bigz L Die from Wild Wasabi card stock and I tucked them under the flowers, adhering them with SNAIL to the card front.  I stamped the flower center in Crushed Curry ink on a Whisper White panel, punched it out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and adhered it to the flower center with SNAIL.

I pulled a strand of Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine through a Crushed Curry button from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack (Sale-A-Bration item) and I tied a little bow.  I adhered the button to the card front with a Glue Dot, then added three Pearl Basic Jewels next to the sentiment to finish the card front.

Painted Blooms DSP - Stamp With Amy K.

I adhered a strip of the Painted Blooms DSP to a strip of Wild Wasabi card stock, then to a Whisper White panel inside the card.

  1. I don’t even see any tiny flowers punched, Amy, and it still looks so Amazing! Lol Beautiful colors, I must say! It appears you have sanded the curry panel, but I’m sure it’s just the way the dp looks. Nicely done, again~

    • Hee hee! I was able to restrain myself…however, the flower punch will likely make an appearance on another card soon! 😉 You are correct, the light area no the panel is actually printed that way on the DSP…and don’t tell, but that paper is actually Daffodil Delight and I stuck Crushed Curry buttons and ink with it! 🙂

  2. Sassy Salutations is one of my favorite sets. Such a pretty card! I like the placement of the bright spot on the yellow paper.

  3. Wow Amy, these colors are AWESOME together!! Spring, please come quick 🙂 That is an fascistic tip to make the card a little smaller to fit in the envelope. I would not have thought of that, well, maybe not right away-lol 😉 I can’t wait for my Petal Potpourri to get here!
