By the Tide Painted Card and a New Catalog Sneak Peek Stamp Set Available Now!

Today I’m sharing a card that I made for the Freshly Made Sketches #77 Challenge and for the Hand Stamp Sentiments HHS Color Challenge #155.  I used the By the Tide stamp set from Stampin’ Up! with the Whisper White Craft Ink painting technique that I used to create this card a few weeks ago.  Here is the sketch:

Here are the colors:

And here is my card:

By the Tide

I started by stamping the word images from the By the Tide stamp set on two panels of Baja Breeze card stock in Baja Breeze ink.  Then I stamped the coral image in Whisper White Craft ink on the larger panel and dried it with my Heat Tool.  I stamped the shell and seahorse images in VersaMark ink on the smaller panel, sprinkled them with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them.

By the Tide 1

I used my Aqua Painter and my Whisper White Craft ink pad and I painted the shells and seahorse images with the craft ink and water.  I used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying process, but you can also just set the images aside until they are completely dry.

By the Tide 2

I used my Aqua Painter and my Daffodil Delight & Rich Razzleberry ink pads and I painted the three images.  Just an FYI with this technique, the ink does dry lighter than it initially appears.

By the Tide 3

Then I layered and adhered the DSP, card stock and ribbon panels and adhered them to the card front.  All of the panels are adhered with SNAIL except for the embossed shell/seahorse panel, I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere that layer.

By the Tide 4

Then I stamped the circle image from the By the Tide stamp set in VersaMark ink on the Floral District DSP, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I punched it out with my 1″ Circle Punch and adhered it to a Silver Basics Designer Button with Glue Dots.  Then I adhered the button to the card front with Glue Dots as well.

By the Tide 5

To finish the card, I stamped the seashell image on a Whisper White panel and adhered it with SNAIL to the inside of the card.
