Today I’m sharing a card that I created for the Fab Friday 15 Sketch Challenge.  I needed a couple of quick kid birthday cards so I used the new Designer Typset Photopolymer and the Bug Me stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! to make them.

I started by adhering a Basic Gray panel that I’d embossed with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder to a Daffodil Delight panel with SNAIL.  Then I adhered both panels to the card base with SNAIL.  I ran a piece of the World Spectacular DSP through my Big Shot in the Honeycomb Embossing Folder and I trimmed 8 of the hexagons out with my Paper Snips and adhered them with SNAIL.

I colored the bee bodies from the Bug Me stamp set with my Basic Black and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped them on a Whisper White 2-1/2″ circle that I’d cut with my Circle #2 Die.  I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the heads and wings in Basic Gray ink.  I used a mask that I’d punched from a Post-It Note with the 1/2″ Circle Punch when I stamped the second bee wing since it would have covered the face of the other bee.

Once I had the bees stamped, I used the fine point tip of my Basic Gray Stampin’ Write Marker to draw the little dashes to create the bee trails.  I adhered the circle to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used the Designer Typset stamp set to create the sentiment using Basic Gray and Daffodil Delight ink.  I wanted it to look a little uneven and tilted so I placed the individual letters on the block a little crooked.  I adhered the sentiment strip to a strip of Daffodil Delight card stock with SNAIL, trimmed the flag end with my Paper Snips, then adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish the card, I stamped the little bee in Basic Gray and Daffodil Delight ink on the inside of the card.
