I needed to make a card for my Brother-in-Law for his birthday. I pulled out the retiring Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Best Dad Ever and I added in a little Parker’s Pattern DSP from the Spring Catalog to make a clean and simple “manly” card. My card design was inspired The Paper Players Challenge #146, CAS Masculine Card.
I started by adhering a panel of Parker’s Pattern DSP to a Not Quite Navy card base with SNAIL. Then I adhered another, smaller panel of Parker’s Pattern DSP to a panel of Cherry Cobbler card stock, then to the card base with SNAIL.
I colored the tie image from the Best Dad Ever stamp set with my Stampin’ Write Markers and I stamped it on a Very Vanilla panel. I inked up the happy birthday sentiment in Not Quite Navy ink and I stamped it below the ties (using my Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement). I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Not Quite Navy card stock with SNAIL, then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I finished the card front by tying Natural Linen Thread through a Silver Basics Designer Button and I adhered it to the card front with Glue Dots.
I used a leftover strip of Parker’s Pattern DSP to decorate the Very Vanilla panel inside the card.
