For my card today, I used the Stampin’ Up! Countryside and Best Dad Ever stamp sets.  Both of these sets are retiring on June 3 and the Parkers Pattern DSP that I used for the background also goes away on May 31.   I love this paper for masculine cards and both of these stamp sets make great manly cards too!  My card design was inspired by the Mojo Monday 294 Sketch.

I started by sponging the edges of both pieces the Parker’s Pattern DSP with Early Espresso ink.  Then I adhered the strip of Early Espresso Core’dinations card stock to the top of the Cherry Cobbler DSP with SNAIL and I wrapped the Natural Linen Thread twice around it and adhered it with Scotch Tape to the back of the panel.  I cut another strip of Early Espresso Core’dinations card stock with the Adorning Accents Edgelits die and embossed it with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Folder.  I adhered the die cut strip to the Cherry Cobbler panel with SNAIL, then I adhered a strip of the Natural 7/8″ Trim Ribbon with SNAIL around the panel.  I adhered the Cherry Cobbler DSP panel to the Marina Mist DSP panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the image from the Countryside stamp set in VersaMark ink on a Marina Mist panel, sprinkled it with Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I stamped the sentiment from the Best Dad Ever stamp set in VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  Then I colored the apples in the back of the truck with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker and I sponged the edges of the panel with Early Espresso ink.  I adhered the decorated panel to a panel of Early Espresso card stock with SNAIL, then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and SNAIL.  To finish the card front, I placed 3 Early Espresso brads using my Paper-Piercing Tool and I tied Natural Linen Thread through a Silver Basics Designer Button and I adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I adhered the decorated panel to the Early Espresso card base with SNAIL.

I finished the inside of the card by adhering a strip of the leftover DSP to a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.
