I used the new Sketched Birthday stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create my card share for today.  I’m loving the mix of this set with the Birthday Basics DSP (don’t forget the current buy 3 get 1 free DSP promotion going on now!!).  My card design was inspired by Retrosketches #71.

I started by adhering a panel of the Birthday Basics DSP to a panel of Raspberry Ripple card stock, then to the Bermuda Bay card base with SNAIL.  Then I adhered the Birthday Basics DSP strip and the Raspberry Ripple panel that I’d embossed with the Alphabet Press Embossing Folder with SNAIL to a Bermuda Bay panel.  I adhered a very thin strip (leftover from trimming one of the edges) of Bermuda Bay card stock with the 2 Way Glue Pen down the seam, then adhered the layered panel to the card front with SNAIL.

I stamped the Sketched Birthday image in StazOn Jet Black ink on a Very Vanilla panel, cut it out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits die and colored it with my Stampin’ Write Markers.  I adhered the image with SNAIL to a second Deco Labels Collection die cut from Bermuda Bay card stock that I’d embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  I adhered a little loop of the 7/16″ Natural Trim to the back of the layered labels with SNAIL, then adhered the layered labels to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I colored the sentiment from the Sketched Birthday stamp set with my Stampin’ Write Markers, stamped it on a Very Vanilla panel, cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits die and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I finished the card by tying a bow using Natural Linen Thread through a Bermuda Bay button and adhering it with a Glue Dot, then adding rhinestones around the cake image and to random candle tops on the background DSP.

I finished the inside of the card by adhering a strip of Birthday Basics DSP to a strip of Bermuda Bay card stock, then to a Very Vanilla panel.
