Settin’ Sail Happy Birthday Sailor Card

I just got the new Settin’ Sail Photopolymer stamp set from Stampin’ Up! with my last order.  This is a set that I think I’ll use a lot.  I love the little lighthouse, sailboat and ships wheel and those banners are too cute!  To see all of the Photopolymer stamp sets available from Stampin’ Up! click here.  My card design was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches #94.

Settin' Sail

I started by embossing a panel of Soft Sky card stock with the Chevron Embossing Folder.  Then I cut a strip of Whisper White card stock and stamped the sailboat and lighthouse images from the Settin’ Sail stamp set in Real Red and Island Indigo ink and adhered it to strips of Island Indigo and Real Red card stock with SNAIL.  Then I stamped the little banner images in Real Red, Island Indigo, Soft Sky and Crumb Cake ink on a Whisper White panel, cut them out with my Paper Snips and adhered them to the back of the layered strip with SNAIL.  I adhered the layered card stock strip to the embossed panel with SNAIL and carefully trimmed the ends with my Paper Snips to match the edge of the Soft Sky panel.  Then I adhered the embossed panel to a panel of Island Indigo card stock, then to a Real Red card base with SNAIL.

Next, I stamped the circle image in Soft Sky and the ships wheel image in Crumb Cake on a Whisper White panel and punched it out with the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch.  I adhered the circle to a 1-3/8″ Circle Punch from Island Indigo card stock with SNAIL, then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I finished the card by stamping the banner in Island Indigo ink and the sentiment in Real Red ink on a Whisper White panel, cutting it out with my Paper Snips and adhering it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the circle punches.

Settin' Sail 2

I finished the inside of the card by stamping the sailboat and lighthouse images in Real Red and Island Indigo ink on a Whisper White panel.
