I used the new Expressions Thinlits Dies from the Stampin’ Up! 2013 Holiday Catalog for my card share today. This is a set of three word dies and they’re pretty cool! The colors for my card were inspired by the ColourQ 198 Colors except I had to substitue Old Olive for the Lucky Limeade.
I started by stamping the Snowflake Soiree images in VersaMark ink on a Bermuda Bay card stock panel, sprinkling them with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossing them. Then I adhered the embossed panel to an Old Olive panel with SNAIL.
Then I used one of the new Expressions Thinlits dies to cut the word “Merry” out of Island Indigo, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler card stock. ***One note when using the Thinlits Dies: Make sure that you place a layer of wax paper between your card stock and the die so that removing the words is quick and easy. The letters just slide right out with your Paper Piercing Tool when you use the wax paper. If you don’t, you’ll most likely end up tearing the thin strips of card stock trying to remove them from the die.
I adhered the die cuts to the card front using the 2-Way Glue Pen. However, I’ve read that the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets (on page 174 in the catalog, item 120805) work perfectly with these dies. I’m putting a package of them in my next order! To finish the card front, I added a few random rhinestones, then adhered the layered card front to the Cherry Cobbler card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I finished the inside of the card by stamping the Snowflake Soiree images in Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, Island Indigo and Cherry Cobbler and the sentiment from the More Merry Messages stamp set on a Whisper White panel.
