I used the new Special Season stamp set and the Simply Scored Borders Plate from Stampin’ Up! to create my very clean and simple card today. My card design was based on The Paper Players #159 and CAS(E) This Sketch #41. I took a few “artistic” liberties with the sketch. 🙂
I started by stamping the tree image from the Special Season stamp set in Garden Green ink on a Crumb Cake card base. Then I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.
I used the Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die to cut a piece of scrap paper. I turned the card over and lightly traced around the die cut shape on the back side of the card. I set aside the die cut and used the pencil lines as my guide for scoring.
I used the Simply Scored Borders Plate to score around the stamped image. The overlay that comes with the Borders Plate made it a bit easier to line everything up and tell where to score. I did have a bit of a goof on lining up the scoring on my first try with this card, so you’ll definitely want to try it on a scrap piece of paper before you start on your final project. Once you get the hang of it, it is pretty easy to do!
I kept the inside of the card very clean and simple too, I just stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink and the evergreen branch in Garden Green.
