Simply Sketched in Rich Razzleberry

I used the Stampin’ Up! hostess set Simply Sketched and the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set to create my card today.  I also used the bleaching technique to create the flower image.  It’s an easy technique and the results are really neat!

My card design was inspired by Sketch Frenzy Friday SFF083013 and the colors were inspired by The Paper Players #162.

Simply Sketched

I started by coloring the polka dot circles with my Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker on a panel of Polka Dot Parade DSP.  I stamped the sentiment from the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set in VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  Then I adhered the Polka Dot panel to a panel of Pool Party card stock with SNAIL, then to a Basic Black card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I embossed a thin banner of Pool Party card stock with the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder, adhered it to a strip of Basic Black card stock with SNAIL, punched the banner end with my Hexagon Punch then adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.

Simply Sketched 1

I stamped the image from the Simply Sketched stamp set in VersaMark ink on a Rich Razzleberry panel, sprinkled it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  Then I took a small paintbrush, dipped it in bleach then painted the flower image.  I dried the bleach with my heat tool, then painted the image with my Aqua Painter and a little bit of Pool Party ink.  Once the painted panel was dry, I adhered it to a Pool Party panel then to a Basic Black panel with SNAIL.  I wrapped Basic Black 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon around the layered panel twice and I adhered it with SNAIL.  To finish the card front, I tied a bow and adhered it with a rolled Glue Dot.

Simply Sketched 2

I stamped the flower image in StazOn Jet Black ink on a Pool Party panel and adhered it inside the card.

  1. Very pretty…I have never had much luck with this technique, so it is fun to see it used and this is a perfect image on which to use it! So happy you were able to play with my colors this week!

  2. Beautiful card!! Love the bleaching technique – I just need to do it more often! And the black really makes it all pop! Thanks for joining us at Sketch Frenzy Friday!
